We are absolutely delighted that the Staff Council of “Oldrids & Downtown” Department Stores (based throughout Lincolnshire) have made The Respite Association their Charity of the Year. The Vice Chairman of the Staff Council, Carl Featherstone who is based at their Downtown store in Boston, said they would be doing a range of fundraising activities which has already included one very brave lady named Hope who has had her head shaved and raised approximately £450.00
In 2011 the staff at T-systems adopted us as their charity of the year. Thanks to T-systems we have this marvellous new website and a brand new leaflet. They also allowed us access to their design team to help us develop our umbrella logo, the first time that we have had a real identity.
Not only did they do all this but they also raised a magnificent £3,500, which T-systems generously match funded, so in all they helped us on our way to buying our holiday facility to the tune of £7,000.
And it does not stop there because many members of the team have continued to support us, from hosting and managing our website to kayaking the Thames.
A huge thank you to everyone at T-systems.
The photo shows John Turner, our Chairman, receiving the cheque from Sam Kingston T-systems managing director.
2011 also saw the staff of Bakkavör supporting us, our office is adjacent to their factory near Spalding. During a fun day held last summer John was delighted to receive a cheque for £5,000 whichwas subsequently topped up to an amazing £5,500.
We all had a great day at the fun day and cannot thank everyone enough for their kind and generous support.
